In the silence between us, Laviana told me that even she, in her impatience, thought another person would be required. The two of us searched for a sign upon the ground. We eventually found one, a simple-looking one, and I knelt down and pressed my hand against it. The two of us waiting around it, Laviana tapping her foot, until a figure finally appeared. Dressed in simple clothing and wielding an axe, the man's demeanor was gruff and rustic as he introduced himself as merely, "the farmer".  He was... odd, but he certainly seemed capable. With him by my side, we retraced our steps to the church.

This time, we scaled the church and headed to the roof. I waited back while the two of them ran forward, exploring the premises. This seemed... off. I looked around, traversing the room slowly, before rumbling caught my attention. I snapped my neck around just in time to see one of the gargoyles lurch off of its tower and throw itself off of the tower, crashing into the roof before me. Unintimidated, I raised my shield and faced the beast.

The three of us surrounded it and we quickly overwhelmed it; another gargoyle jumped down to aid its fellow. It met the same fate as its partner, and soon both had fallen to our blades. The moment it's head hit the shingles, my allies exploded in a shower of light. I jerked my head around, startled, but for some reason I could tell this was meant to be. To each of them, I uttered a heartfelt "thanks". I would hope to see each of them again...

My eyes followed the tower upward, caught by a glint of metal; in the top I spotted a large bell. I threw myself at the ascent, quickly reaching it and ringing it loudly. It's musical chime echoed through the shattered city for miles around, reflecting everywhere. I sighed in satisfaction and climbed the tower downwards.

My ears caught the sound of talking; quietly, I followed it and found its source. I found and was greeted by a tall man, his arms outstretched, clad in dark robes and leather. He introduced himself as Oswald, a dealer and healer of sin. Confused, I stayed and talked to him for a few minutes, but he wouldn't provide much useful information. Frustrated, I gave up and left, climbing back down the church and heading outside, following the sound of metal striking metal. In the basement of a building, I found a large blacksmith, face ringed with a white, furry beard. Introducing himself as Andre, he offered to do any smithing I would require. He seemed like a perfectly respectable man. He was perhaps the most... normal person I had met. He was even kind enough to teach me the way to fix my weapons myself. I had a feeling I would be returning here often, even if just to meet a friendly face. With a smile, I bowed and took my leave, returning to the bonfire upstairs for rest.
